CENTER-RIGHT PERSPECTIVE ON CURRENT NEWS EVENTS

I don’t write knee-jerk reaction style blogs. I like to take my time to analyze recent events and respond in a thoughtful manner. Looking back over the days leading up to the election, I thought it was pretty obvious that the Republicans were in trouble. I have made it no secret that I am not a registered Republican; I consider myself and independent. I do however vote Republican 100% of the time, but that doesn’t mean I’m in love with the party. You could put me more in the MAGA column. I am now and forever an America first guy. The Constitution and Old Glory take precedence, period.

I broke from the Republican party years ago when the Establishment Republicans were so lame they made me furious. You really couldn’t tell the difference between them and a Democrat. I had left the party years before this event happened, but it was the absolute epitome of their sanctimonious attitude. When Donald Trump took office in this first term, he had control of the House and Senate. Paul Ryan and Mitch McConnel did everything in their power to make sure Trump was not successful. It so obvious, you couldn’t miss it. They slow walked everything so that nothing happened. Consequently, you got the old witch Pelosi back in power in his second term, and she masterminded the Russian hoax and the January 6th circus.

This time around you got Thune instead of McConnel, different people, same attitude. I’m really surprised Trump accomplished as much as he did. So, this is what I think ultimately brought the Republicans down. As much as it pains me to say this, I think Trump himself has to shoulder a lot of blame.

Donald Trump is a “larger than life” character that unquestionably likes to exert his authority. People will accept that, if he is making their lives measurably better. But when their lives are not getting better, and the cost of living is still painful, his “bull in the China shop” attitude starts getting hard to bear. I absolutely don’t fault Trump for challenging Iran. The four presidents before him kicked the can down the road and it ended up landing at Trump’s feet. He absolutely did the right thing. Is the cost of gasoline making my life hard, you bet. I filled up the tank on my Suburban today, about 24 gallons and the cost was an even $100.00. Our trip to the grocery a few days ago, food for two people as $225.00. We just sent the first payment in for our property taxes last week for $1,700.00, the first of four payments. I know Mr. Trump likes to espouse how much better off we are now that he is in charge, but I’m finding that hard to measure.

Donald Trump and Scott Bessent have been telling us that the amount of crude moving through the Strait of Hormuz is at an all-time high. The US pretty much seized the oil in Venezuela, and the US is producing oil at an all-time high. So, I get the feeling that we are being gaslighted. If all of this good stuff is happening, why isn’t the price of gas $2.50 per gallon? Why is food so danged high? These are the questions regular folks want answered, while they watch their savings dwindle and their credit cards fill up. This is what loses elections folks.

Now, I would like to establish the fact that I’m not an idiot. Close maybe. But Biden did a number on the economy that was unprecedented. You don’t clean that mess up quickly. But Trump claimed he was going to, and people ran out of patience. Understand two things; Americans have very poor memories, and they want instant gratification. You can’t have instant gratification when the prior administration took this country very close to a depression.

Another factor that may not be as important as others was Trump’s application of Tariffs to level the playing field with countries that have been ripping us off for years. The average American didn’t feel the pain of our country getting ripped off, but they damn sure felt the pain, when goods started costing a lot more, that used to be cheap.

THE INCREASING NUMBER OF THIRD WORLDERS IN OUR MIDST AINT’ HELPING

Back when people cared about our wonderful home known as the good ol’ USofA, the flow if legal immigrants was metered to around two million a year. That is a good number, because about 3.07 million Americans die each year from natural causes and non communicable diseases. About 3.6 million babies are born each year. Also, for the most part those two million legal immigrants are people that are educated, and are coming to this country to work, start businesses and make our country better. A far cry from the unmitigated immigration of illegals we saw during the Obama and Biden years.

The Democrats have openly admitted that the unbridled flow of illegal immigrants was done to shore up their voting base. They made sure the illegals could vote through some very shady moves like “motor voter”, registering voters when they received drivers’ licenses, and other underhanded methods. If Donald Trump didn’t do anything else, he shined a light on how corrupt the Democrat party is. (and how lame the Republicans are)

ALL IS NOT LOST, THERE IS HOPE

The Democrats are corrupt as hell, and they will cheat their own mothers in order to gain power. But they can’t seem to manage the power once they get it. They will be so filled with the need for revenge that they will immediately attack anyone with an R behind their name, and especially their most favorite target, Donald Trump. They will waste their capitol with investigations, endless hearings, and accusations, they will accomplish nothing for the people that elected them. By the end of the next two years people will be so sick of them they will vote them out. I’ve seen it happen again and again. So, set back, watch the show, absolutely nothing will get done in D.C. for the next two years unless it’s an executive order. That’s not a bad thing.

God bless all of you, God bless the USA. Our great country is strong, resilient, and the people are great. We will survive this, and we will likely be better for it. Keep the faith.
