My first trip to Southern California as a grownup with my own family was 1961. Yep, 63 years ago this month. Disneyland officially opened six years earlier in July of 1955. We were visiting my wife’s mother and father, and they took us to the park. I will never forget how beautiful Anaheim was in the vicinity of the park. As a young man from Tulsa, Oklahoma, I had never experienced such gorgeous flowers and surroundings.

I remember walking into Disneyland for the very first time, it literally looked like a fairytale world, I was mesmerized by the sights and sounds. The big deal of the day was the ride on the submarines. It was almost more than my brain could contain. It was such a vivid sight to behold, I can recall it almost like it was yesterday.

My father-in-law was a great tour guide. He took us to the Santa Monica pier, and what an experience that was. I couldn’t believe the beauty of Santa Monica. Then of course he took us to the famous park, which is also at the very end of Route 66. It was all amazingly magical. Two years later when I completed my apprenticeship and became a union journeyman, I moved to California with my wife and kids and lived there another 30 years. Returning to Disneyland many times during those years, always excited to return. California was indeed the Magic Kingdom in that time period.

Just a little side note here; when you walk down the sidewalk in “It’s a Small World”, I built many of those steel ornaments on the posts, like the clock with the spinning hands and others. I was fortunate enough to leave my mark at one of my favorite places.

But the longer we lived there, the more the Golden State became seriously tarnished by the graft and corruption of the left. By the time we left in 1990, California was a mere shadow of the glorious place it once was.

After watching this video, you seriously have to wonder if this is a deliberate move by the state of California to kill of capitalism and replace it with socialism. Then stop and think about it in greater depth and realize this is happening in a lot of major blue states and cities. Are we witnessing the planned demise of the United States as we once knew it? Deliberately transforming it into a third world nation and ushering in communism with a silent revolution?

Otherwise, why would the state and local governments allow this to happen? There are thousands of unanswered questions generated by this situation.

Obviously, this is why the election is so damned important. Quite honestly, I’m scared to death that the left has a death grip on this nation, and we are not going to be able to break it. If you’re not terrified, you should be. The left has almost destroyed California in three decades. One of the most prosperous and beautiful places in the entire world. Gone before your very eyes.
