POLITICALLY INCORRECT, CENTER RIGHT PERSPECTIVE ON CURRENT NEWS EVENTS

MY OPENING

So many things are happening so fast, it’s really hard to sort out the important ones, and focus on them. There are little military skirmishes that could blossom into full blown wars. There are the never-ending social conflicts that the government and the legacy media promote, throw in a presidential election where the people in power are trying to kill their political opponent in the legal system, plus a thousand other distractions. So right now, I think it’s appropriate to call it worldwide chaos. Oh, I left out that Britain and some of the NATO nations are saber rattling with Russia, which seems to be utter nonsense. I’m not sure if you noticed, but all of this uncertainty seems to be causing short tempers between American citizens. I’m seeing it in the way people drive and interact with each other while shopping. I’m beginning to think everyone hates everyone. I’m being much more careful when I drive, you never know if the other driver is having a bad day and carrying a lethal weapon.

WEF AND THE WHO APPEAR TO BE GETTING READY TO START CAPTURING GOVERNMENTS THROUGH HEALTH TREATIES.

When two entities such as these, make statements individually that are obviously interconnected, you had better pay attention to what they are saying and start reading between the lines. In my opinion, COVID 19 was a trial balloon to see if the masses could be controlled by convincing them they could get sick and die at any moment, unless they followed government protocols, and allowed themselves to be injected with unproven vaccines. Lock themselves in their homes, not attend churches and places of entertainment. I would say it worked pretty damned well from what I saw. The release of COVID 19 made massive changes in the world economy. Enabled the Democrats to capture the Whitehouse under blatant voting irregularities, which has arguably had extreme effects on the world power structure due to inept leadership. So, I think anyone with and I.Q. equal to room temperature would agree their experiment was a raging success.

The World Economic Forum is made up of some of the world’s most wealthy and influential people and have cleverly made climate change a major focus. It’s clever because it can’t really be proven or disproven. They have the money and power to push the narrative down the throats of the world population through their control of the media. So again, they are using fear and intimidation to force you to comply with their carefully planned programs designed to dominate the masses. Climate change is also a very good way to levy more taxes on working folk, to kill the boogeyman. Just a side note here to inform you of the truth. (which I love) If the rate of temperature rise is really what they say it is, it will take 2.5 to four million years for the world to become uninhabitable. These are their numbers, I guess they think nobody will stop and do the math.

OK, armed with the ideas I just presented to you, there was a brand new boogeyman rolled out at the World Economic Forum this month called DISEASE X. Obviously, there is no current pandemic in progress, but these geniuses are saying there will inevitably be another one, and they are warning everyone they will need to take steps to control it quickly. What they are really saying is they are devising a plan to control you very quickly. How would they do that you say? They are not a government, and they can’t control our government. Now you can put all of this together for yourselves and easily see where this is going. It is scary as hell, because the people we have in Washington D.C. would absolutely jump at the chance to sign on to such a treaty knowing the U.S. would be under their power forever.

Maybe you should contact your congressman or woman right now and tell them to stand against this. Probably won’t do much good if they’ve already been paid off. You can try. At least they know you know.

MY OPENING STATEMENT

I get a lot of very positive comments for my articles, and I appreciate and value every single one of them. I recently got a very nice comment from a lady, and in her comment, she said she preferred calling my blog a “letter” saying she didn’t like the work “blog”. I agree with her 100%, I don’t like the sound of the word either. It sounds sorta crude in a way, not very flattering. I prefer to call my work “articles” instead. I would never call myself a journalist, I have no credentials whatsoever to make that claim. I spent my life as a steel fabricator, so I guess I’m a fabricator wannabe journalist. Never was one to have idols, but if I did, it would be Tucker Carlson.

I have found the news extremely depressing over the past three years for obvious reasons, and I would really rather write about positive topics, so that’s why “The View From St. Charles” gets more chances than my news review. However, I think there are some very interesting things in the news lately that deserve scrutiny.

TRAVESTY AT THE BORDER

Our southern border has been an issue forever. I worked in southern California for 30 years from 1960 to 1990. I witnessed this firsthand, although the number of illegals that breached the border in those days, were much fewer. I saw numerous raids on manufacturing and construction companies where dozens of illegals were loaded into green vans and taken back to the border. I was always amused that these same folks would return to their jobs a few weeks later. So, the INS as it was called in those days was largely ineffective. What was going on in those days was very much different than what is happening today.

Joe Biden has never been the “sharpest tool in the box” but his positions on immigration, and race relations is drastically different today that when he served in the senate as a much younger man. Joe aligned himself with the working-class folks. I don’t think he really liked them all that much, he was pandering to the unions for money and votes. So, I don’t think it’s a stretch to assume that his vastly different political positions today are influenced by money and power. Its pretty obvious Joe has always been a “money grubber” that has played just out of bounds, but being a Democrat, he got away with it.

You don’t have to be some sort of highly trained investigator to know what is going on in politics. It’s just like being an undercover security officer in a department store, you very quickly learn to identify thieves before they strike. Politicians are about the same level as shoplifters. You can quickly identify the bad ones. That being said I have a theory on what is currently going on in D.C.

The Democrats have been working up to this for years. The day when they became the dominant force and would be the “ruling party” being able to call the shots on anything and everything. They would become the “untouchables”. The Democrats were absolutely convinced that Hillary would easily beat Trump in 2016, and that would have been the beginning of the end for Republicans. Surprise, MAGA struck its first blow.

The Democrats tried everything to dismantle Trump’s presidency. They didn’t kill him, but he took some serious hits during his four years in the Whitehouse. The Democrats knew that if Trump won another four years as president there would be some serious “payback”. So, they came up with the “Biden Plan”.

The Democrats knew Biden was in serious cognitive decline, they knew he would do almost anything for money and power. They knew he had some serious issues with his drug addicted son, and illicit family business dealings. (If you notice Joe brags too much,) He would be the absolutely perfect puppet president, to be manipulated by the previous administration. Obama made the remarks in the following clip, as a joke, but in my opinion, this is exactly what is happening right now.

Now the plan is in place to nominate Biden to run against Trump. But wait, if Trump defeated Hillary with ease, how in the world would Biden ever win against Trump. Donald Trump is wildly more popular that Joe Biden. It would be a landslide Trump victory. They could never showcase stumbling, bumbling Biden against an energy powerhouse like Donald Trump.

Three things had to happen to prevent Donald Trump from ever returning to the Whitehouse, and they were executed in true “deep state” fashion.

1. Voting laws had to be changed in key battleground states with early voting, mail in ballots, and lax voting laws.
2. Biden had to be kept out of sight so the public couldn’t witness his cognitive issues.
3. A pandemic had to happen to make all of these things possible. It would be the perfect “smoke screen” for openly rigging a presidential election.
4. Enter COVID 19. It was the product of “gain of function” research, and in my opinion, was created especially for this purpose. I believe Anthony Fauci and his associates were in it up to their eyeballs and became very rich men in the process. China was taking an economic beating under Trump, so I wouldn’t rule out China’s involvement in the plan.

Biden’s open border policies are never something that he would have done as a younger man, but he has sold his soul to the Democrat devils. This is an insurance plan. Flooding major democrat cities and states with millions of new people, then counting them on the census will tilt the demographics and result in more democrat lawmakers to guarantee a legislative majority. The Democrats are fully aware that a lot of unsavory people, perhaps even terrorists will end up in our midst. But, what the hell, if they didn’t mind killing a few million Americans with a virus to get Joe into the Whitehouse, why would this bother them?

This is the bottom-line good people, the United States Government has never been more corrupt than it is now. Correcting this problem will take years, if even possible. All we can do is be vigilant and speak the truth in all issues. The recent release of the bribery tapes by Kari Lake speak volumes. Stay safe, stay vigilant, stay courageous. If you are outspoken, let it be known that you aren’t suicidal. I’m certainly not suicidal.

KITCHEN TABLE CONVERSATIONS

I’ve done a couple of these over the years, and after our kitchen table conversation last evening after dinner, I thought it was time to do another one. When you know the backgrounds of myself and my wife it would make you wonder how we ever found each other. I was born and raised in Tulsa, Oklahoma, she in London, England. My dad was a steelworker, my mom a homemaker. Both of them excelled at what they did. My wife’s father was a successful London real estate developer, her mom a homemaker. Both of them excelled at what they did. We both grew up in strict, follow the rules families. My family was lower middle class, Her’s upper middle class. She was given an around the world cruise for her graduation, I was told to get a job.

We met each other a year after my first wife passed with brain aneurism and which will be 17 years ago this month. She had been a single lady for about 20 years, and I had been married for 46 years or most of my life. Let’s just say, the period of adjustment was a little prolonged. But here we are 16 years later, enjoying life with our little Wire Fox terrier, thoroughly enjoying our so-called golden years. (which by the way is a bigger lie than Biden ever told) The so-called “golden years” suck, trust me.

As you can imagine, our vastly different backgrounds lead to some very interesting discussions. We are both die hard Trump supporters, we are both rabidly patriotic conservatives.

Our conversation this evening began with discussion about what is going on with Fanny Willis. Then the conversation centered around the other black female attorney generals, and DA’s that have gone completely off the rails recently. The crazy Democrat hack in NYC, Letitia James, Boston ATG Marilyn Mosby in the Freddie Gray incident, Kim Foxx on Jussie Smollett. This is not all of them that haven proven to be absolute clowns. There are others that are openly racists. They don’t ever try to hide it. Yet all of them are holding their offices through raciest means. We both agreed that the justice system in this nation is being seriously tainted due to raciest programs, placing people in powerful positions that are not qualified to hold them. I can tell you assuredly that we would be equally distraught no matter which race was doing it.

The discussion then turned to the issue of slavery which blacks can’t seem to let go of, even though it happened over 200 years ago. Blacks in the United States have more opportunity to succeed than anywhere else in the world, but somehow the issue of slavery is holding them back and they need to be paid an enormous amount of money to make that go away. This where reality comes into play. My wife is very familiar with what life was like in London in the 1800’s and early 1900’s from her history studies, and stories from her family. Life for poor whites was extremely hard, women turned to prostitution to keep from starving to death. Adults and children worked side by side in factories for pennies, to survive in the cruelest of circumstances. Women dying during childbirth was a common occurrence, and the father simply couldn’t take care of his children and work, which was a terrible family disaster. Youngsters born to impoverished parents were sent to work in cotton mills in terrible conditions, forced to work long hard hours, poorly nourished, riddled with disease, and often died at a very young age. My wife said life as a slave in America would have been one hell of a lot better life. At least they were housed, fed and didn’t freeze to death from exposure.

My wife went on to tell the story of her father who was born in early 1900’s. His mother was widowed with six young children. They lived in abject poverty. Her father would fight bare fisted on the street corners for money, grown men would bet on the fight. If he won he would get six pence. That is how he helped his mom and his brothers and sisters to survive. There was no welfare to turn to, it was do or die. Her mom came from similar circumstances. Her father was obviously a fighter and went on the become a wealthy real estate developer through hard work and being driven to never be impoverished again.

My wife went on to say that life in Paris, Edenborough, and Dublin was probably worse than London. She also talked about how terrible the Romans treated the British during their occupation of Britain. Make no mistake, life for white folk in Europe from the 1600’s through the early 1900’s was no cake walk. Her message to blacks is to “suck it up buttercup” shut the hell up and get over yourselves.

I didn’t really add much to the conversation, she was making some dynamite points. Then she went on to talk about how bad life was for early Italian and Irish immigrants in New York. It wasn’t much, if any better than London. Kids were still working long hours in factories and facing grinding poverty.

She brought up the topic of “Indentured Servitude”. Something I had very little knowledge of.

This is a “snip” from Wikipedia, be sure to go to Wikipedia.com and read the whole article for yourself. Basically, white folk were being bought and sold in the same time period blacks were being bought and sold. Granted, under a little better circumstances, but not much.

MY SUMMATION

Young Americans today are a bunch of whiney crybabies. Not all, but most. Even those that live in what we call poverty don’t even begin to have the challenges that our ancestors had. They don’t have the threat of starvation hanging over their heads every day. They aren’t forced to work in factories and farm fields at 10 years old, losing limbs and eyesight from industrial accidents. They have adequate clothing; most have adequate housing. American youngsters facing absolutely dire circumstances that their ancestors did, are a very small number today.

The playing field for blacks has been tilted in their favor for a number of years now, and they still demand more. The attitude I see displayed by young blacks is that they are now convinced that they are above the law, and can have anything they want, just for the taking. How can you blame them, they are arrested, and the system simply turns them back out on the streets. The lax laws and failure to prosecute crime by ideolog prosecutors, are creating a monster that is going to be very hard to get under control. Large bands of people looting stores is something new, I never saw it before a couple of years ago. Gangs of blacks beating white people to death in broad daylight is certainly something I never imagined I would witness. The amount of lawlessness in this country is intolerable. The permission to act like this is coming from government leaders, making it possible through lack of law enforcement and failure to prosecute crime. Did you ever think you would see a government official suggesting cutting back policing our streets. That’s the very definition of insanity.

I totally agree with Vivek when he says we are on the cusp of change. It’s either going to get one hell of a lot better, or one hell of a lot worse. Only time will tell. But it’s looking to me like the house of cards the left has built is beginning to collapse. People are getting tired of the craziness that Biden has wrought. They are getting tired of open borders, they are getting tired of the quasicrystalline dictatorship of Joe Biden and his lefty Hanger Oners. The sooner we get Ron Claine, Susan Rice and Barrack out of the white house the better.

I’m beginning to get fired up again after seeing DJT clean house last night. I am seeing a glimmer of hope that we may be returning to better times. Wow, we have some great people in our group now; Tucker, Vivek, Kristy Noem, MJT, Trumps former cabinet members, and a host of others. We seriously need to weed out the old Republican establishment garbage once and for all, especially Mitch McConnell. We must get rid of Ronna McDaniel soon, replace her with Harmeet Dhillon.

Gotta go, getting close to time for reuniting with My Pillow. Stay alert, call out the liars and fakes. Things are looking up.

THE INDESCRIBABLE RUSSELL BRAND

Years ago, my first exposure to Russel Brand on some forgotten TV show was a mix of emotions. On one hand I thought he was hilarious and on the other I found him to be another really obnoxious lefty. But nevertheless, I continued to be intrigued by his demeanor. I thought he had very bad taste in women being in a relationship with Katy Perry, who I found to be even more obnoxious than Russell.

A while ago, Mr. Brand seems to have taken a right turn, and has a crystal-clear view of what is going on in politics. Well maybe it’s not crystal clear, but it’s more in alignment with mine. I check in on his YouTube channel frequently to see what he’s ranting about. The one that I am posting below reflects exactly what I have said many times about January 6th. When I hear people talk about the capitol building as being sacred, I wanna puke. I have been in the capitol building, and while it’s impressive, I did not have a feeling that I was in some sort of Holy Shrine. It’s a building where the government conducts its business which is as far from holy as you are ever going to get. The people that work in that building are a long way from being servants of God.

I hope you enjoyed this as much as I did. Enrich your vision and check in with Russell from time to time. But get your brain ready because his messages hit hard and fast.

FROM A BLANK PAGE TO BREAKING NEWS IN A MATTER OF HOURS.

Woke up this morning to a light blanket of fresh snow making everything look beautiful. The forecast says the weather is going to be absolutely terrible for the next couple of days with freezing rain, sleet, and temperatures hovering around 18 to 25 degrees. Makes driving a total crap shoot, so we are sort of being held captive by Mother Nature.

That being said, I thought what the heck, good day to do some writing. But my brain just wasn’t cooperating. I thought well, if I do some other stuff for a few hours, maybe I will become inspired to say something worthwhile. But here’s the problem. The USA, and most of the rest of the world has descended into some sort of chaotic circus, and it’s utterly depressing to witness, let alone find anything worth writing about. The past three years have been some sort of dystopian nightmare.

So, out of sheer boredom, I thought I would see if I could find something interesting on YouTube. I did indeed, and I am about to share it with you. And by the way, after hearing Vivek speak to Tucker Carlson regarding Niki Haley, I found myself saying “I knew there was something afoot but couldn’t quite figure it out”. I all makes sense now.

I kept watching all of these players, watching the harassment of Donald Trump, and I just wasn’t able to make sense of it, even though I knew something was in play. I was seeing more resistance against Trump by certain Republican donors and political circles. I just didn’t get it. I hope this helps you see it, if you weren’t able to figure it out.

I think I am going to go put a bag of kettle corn in the microwave, and grab a Michelob Ultra, and watch some guy build a hot rod on YouTube. I’ll feel a lot better for it. My little Wire Foxie will join me, he loves popcorn. Have a great week. Stay alert.

From an old timer that has passed through the green fertile fields of what was once a great nation, and now finding myself standing in the burnt out remains of a once majestic forest.

The United States of America was established as a Democratic Republic. It is democratic because the people govern themselves. It is a republic because the government’s power is derived from the people. Federal, state and local governments are elected by the citizens. More accurately defined, the United States is a constitutional federal republic.

The only way this type of arrangement works, is that the people must be united and steadfast in their commitment to remain a free and sovereign nation. Do you remember the motto “united we stand, divided we fall”? We are no longer a united people; the everyday person became lazy and passive, while the left has created the dreadful divisions that are ripping us apart. Not by accident I may add. The reason is really simple; if you divide the people it transfers the power to the federal government. This is precisely why the Democrats are flooding our nation with people from third world nations. The immigrants are from socialist governments and dictatorships and have no experience or desire to be self-governed. They are looking for someone to give them a better life, they see the USA as the land of “milk and honey”, but it’s quickly turning into a land of “bread and water”.

UNDERSTAND THE NATURE OF THE BEAST

From the beginning of time, every government in the world that has risen to a world power has failed, and fell into irrelevance, some disappearing forever. IT’S GETTING HARDER TO HIDE THE TRUTH SINCE DONALD TRUMP TOOK THE STAGE.

Admittedly, I am a Trump supporter, voted for him the first time and plan on voting for him again. However, this article is not specifically about Donald Trump, it’s about the acute awareness of the bad actors that his presence has brought forth. My wife and I have spoken many times about this. All of the vast amount of corruption, lies and deceit were unknown until this man came on the scene. It’s almost as if he was the catalyst that caused all of these swamp creatures to rear their evil heads in defense of their domain. Let’s face it, they are currently in a hyper state, doing unbelievable things, like trying to usurp local laws, and even the constitution itself to stop him from running for office. They are literally in some type of frenzied fit.

His presence has laid bare the Washington D.C. uni-party, a body of lawmakers that have no interest in working for anyone other than themselves. The United States government is now in self-preservation mode, willing to mow down anyone that stands in its way. January 6th, is my evidence in this matter. The government orchestrated the riot, participated in it, then had a fake hearing to gloss it over and give it validity. There are so many independent journalists that continue to dig into this, and uncover more and more evidence, the American people will eventually accept the truth over the lies of the government and the state-run media. If the Republican party was serious about winning the next election, Ronna Macdaniel would not be head of the RNC. It’s very hard to tell the difference between her and Liz Cheney.

There are other forces out there to worry about and I’m not sure our current lawmakers and President would be willing to stand up and say “hell no” to the World Health Organization. It will be a huge temptation for power hungry Democrats to ignore. By the way, note the date which this is slated to happen, this coming May, right before the presidential primaries. My brain has been in maximum overload this morning, thinking about what took place last year, and what we are likely looking at for the coming year. It kinda feels like I just spent a whole year in some sort of asylum. Last night, my dearly beloved and I joined our friends at our Elks Lodge for a New Years Eve bash. Great party; sit down dinner with delicious food and drink. One of our favorite bands was playing, for an evening of dining and dancing. Everyone was having a great time, living in the moment. But the conversations at the tables over drinks were a little more somber, hoping 2024 would alleviate some of the bad experiences of 2023. But I can tell you, I didn’t hear any belief expressed by anyone, that such would be the case. Nevertheless, there were plenty of laughs and hugs to go around, and old friendships reinforced. The American Spirit was alive and well.

THE INDICATORS ARE NOT GOOD

One of the first things that caught my attention this morning was the announcement by the white house that new regulations are coming for home appliances. I know a little bit about this, and what the results are likely to be. During the Obama years they took away incandescent light bulbs and replaced them with fluorescent lights. An incandescent bulb contains a tungsten element, what creates light when electrified in a sealed glass envelope. Very simple device. A fluorescent lamp requires mercury to ignite the gases contained in the lamp, with a compound containing phosphorous. Obviously fluorescent lamps have been around for decades, and countless thousands have been discarded releasing the mercury into the environment. So why would anyone think it was a good idea to mandate that all lamps contained mercury making the problem worse?

Our home was built in 1998, so all of our appliances were beginning to wear out during the Obama years. We bit the bullet and replaced all of them at the same time, which included a GE dishwasher that was manufactured under the new Obama mandates. Our old dishwasher was noisy, but wow, it really worked. The dishes were spotless. Unfortunately, it was beginning to leak. Our new GE dishwasher is all fancy with modern digital controls, lots of stainless steel to make it look spectacular, but doesn’t work worth a damn. It takes 248 minutes to complete a cycle, that has only lackluster results. You literally have to pre-wash the dishes because they have decreased the water usage so much, it doesn’t work like dishwashers of the past. My wife hates it.

So, now the geniuses are at work again, making more of the appliances we rely on less useful. When we replaced our kitchen appliances, we got a new GE glass cooktop, slide in unit with oven. The oven works wonderfully, the glass top stove has to be cleaned with a special cleanser to maintain its appearance. You have to use a single edge razor to remove the burnt-on stuff before applying the cleanser. This happens every time you cook on it if you want your kitchen to look clean and tidy. Caution do not allow sugar to collect on the glass between the pot and the heating element, it will ruin the glass top, and put big hole in your wallet. All of this tom foolery kind of makes a traditional gas range look a little more attractive. In my opinion.

I want you to think about what you just read. Why is the US Government in your homes? Why are they trying to dictate what type of automobile you can drive? Why are trying to dictate how you raise your children? Why are they focusing on light bulbs? These are “baby steps” in the overall plan to control virtually every aspect of your lives. They are on the road to total domination. They want every single human being to be subservient to the federal government. Whether you realize it or not, you are living in the beginnings of the abolition of people’s rights, and the beginning of total tyranny.

The same technology that allows your EV software to be updated via internet, can also be used to disable your vehicle at the will of the government. They can very easily control your movement. Digital WIFI residential thermostats will make it possible for the government to control how you heat and cool your homes. If they need to cut back power usage because the wind and solar can’t keep up, they will cut back your power usage like it or not. Watch for next announcement that you will no longer be able to buy analog thermostats, and new thermostats must be WIFI capable. Don’t think you’re going to get around it by using a wood stove. These are being banned all around the U.S. If you wake up at night with the feeling someone is plotting against you, you’re totally justified in your feelings.

Side note: A couple of years ago, I installed a digital WIFI thermostat in my house so I could control it via my mobile phone. I had to interact with Honeywell to activate it. Out of the blue a few months later, the gas company sent me a request to allow them access to it, so they could supposedly help me regulate my usage resulting in lowering my costs. My response was swift, removing it and replacing it with a new analog unit.

If you think I sound like a conspiracy nut, that’s OK. I would rather think of myself as being hyper vigilant regarding my highly valued freedom.

PITY THE POOR CALIFORNIANS

There’s an old saying that says; “As California goes, so goes the nation”. You better pray that no longer holds true. California’s governor, Gavin Nuisance just announced that the state will now provide free healthcare to 700,000 illegal immigrants. This will cost the California taxpayers about 1.2 billion for the first six months, and about 3.2 billion each year thereafter. Guaranteed to exceed those estimates, as everything always does. This is being done in spite of California facing a financial deficit of 68 billion dollars. Sounds like “pretty boy” Gavin has been enamored with “Bidenomics”.

In the past California has been a manufacturing and agricultural powerhouse. It has consistently ranked among the ten largest economies in the world. In 1995 its gross product was over 800 billion dollars. The California economy has been grossly mismanaged by the left leaning state government.

California businesses only added 6,000 new jobs in November of last year. For the last three months of 2023 the state’s unemployment continued to rise. The state continues to see crippling inflation. It appears that California entered into a recession in the fall of 2022, and the slowdown is not showing any signs of recovery into the foreseeable future.

I read another article that indicated that California’s labor force is transitioning into becoming service based. Reading between the lines, that tells me, more people are serving food and drinks than building stuff. This is not a good indicator. This means less revenue for the state. This is probably one of the many reasons they expect tax revenues to be 58 billion dollars below projections.

So, while the state continues to cater to illegals and minorities, the roads get worse, the cities are dirtier and more dangerous. Homelessness gets worse, and the state is looking a lot more like the “Brass State” as opposed to the “Golden State”.

SANCTUARY CITIES NOT HAPPY WITH MILLIONS OF NEW UNDOCUMENTED CITIZENS.

Karma is indeed a bitter pill to swallow. All of the people that stood defiant of ICE, acting all righteous, protecting the illegals suddenly have a change of heart. It seems that all of that self-righteousness had a numerical limit. Who knew? They often cited the inscription on Statue of Liberty as their righteous defense, but I don’t remember that inscription having a numerical limit. I think these people are being just plain selfish. They want all of that welfare money for themselves. They don’t wanna share.

They thought it was all good as long as they all stayed in Texas, Arizona and California. Those are big places, why do they need to come to the cities? Why couldn’t they just live in the desert? Democrats are freaking liars and cry babies. They don’t give a damn about how immigration impacts you. They don’t wanna be burdened by it. They just wanna sound better than you. They don’t want to deal with the problem they created. Thank you, Greg Abbott, for giving them a taste of their own medicine. The more they cry the better I feel.

JUST GETTING STARTED

Well, we’re off and running in a brand-new year, and I’m just getting started with my ranting and raving about the things that irritate me to no end. I’m not sure how much impact my rants really have, but they sure make me feel better. I appreciate all of you that continue to follow my efforts to make a difference. EMPLOYEES VS. EMPLOYERS

Having been on both sides of the fence, union and non-union, I feel I have a license to comment on this matter. I am amused reading comments on social media about how employees think they have been mistreated, and abused by their employers, after having experienced working for some of the biggest assholes to ever walk, and endured it so I could make my house payments.

Firstly, I have to admit, I’m from another time, a time when people were one hell of a lot tougher and were able to stand up under the stress of being told what to do in a less than congenial manner. I remember when I was working my first job in a very large steel fabrication shop in Oklahoma that employed around 200 men in a building that covered eight acres. It had a huge whistle located in the center of the building that signaled start and stop times. One day I was getting particularly hungry just before lunch time, and asked my foreman what time it was. His reply was perfect, he said “they’ll blow the whistle when it’s time to quit”. In other word you don’t need to know what time it is, go back to work.

They didn’t care if you were tired, or hungry or having some sort of personal crisis, all they wanted was for you to perform the duties they were paying you to perform. Period. If you were having a bad day, stay home. But if you made that a habit, you would be out a job quickly. We had to “clock in” when we walked through the door in the morning, if you were a minute late, you were “docked” fifteen minutes, and so on every 15 minute interval. You were given the written rules when you hired in, if you found them too burdensome, you could opt out of working there. Simple. I wouldn’t say they were “slave drivers” they actually treated us well, they just expected you to work for your wages. That was a union shop by the way.

The toughest shops I worked in were union shops. They paid top wages, had great benefits, which resulted in a higher cost burden for the owners. This made it harder for them to compete with the non-union shops. To offset that, we had to be more productive. If you stopped to talk to your coworkers, you better keep it short, or the foreman would be breathing down your neck. Those shops were pressure cookers. But I was able to provide a better standard of living for my family with great health benefits, and paid vacations. Not a bad tradeoff for a little extra effort on my part. We took great pride in being union Ironworkers. The pros, the best in the business.

That inevitable time in my life came in my late forties when I decided to jump in and become a shop owner. The first time was not so good, as I was in a partnership with three other guys. My good friend I worked for years earlier, warned me about partnerships. He said they were marriages without sex. Truer words were never spoken. That lasted a couple of years before going down in flames. Five years later I did it again, only this time as a sole proprietor. It was a ten-year run of blood, sweat and tears. We did some great projects around Seattle, which you can still see today.

I was proud of our accomplishments, but the daily battle to deal with employees took the fun out of it. They brought their problems to work with them and they became my problems. Such as not paying child support, being arrested for soliciting prostitutes, being strung out on drugs, and just plain being lazy or crazy. My wife asked me one time, “where do you find these people”? I told her they find me. I sent one of my welders out to do a job and my truck was impounded by the Washington State Patrol. He was carrying a driver’s license that had been revoked months earlier. I checked it and put it in his file, having no idea it was invalid. Fortunately for me, I had a friend that was a state patrol office and was able to retrieve our welding truck before it was stripped of all of the tools in the impound yard. The list of employee problems was never ending, I could write a book about them. When I decided to throw in the towel and liquidate my shop, it was a happy day, it was like being liberated. I have learned two very important lessons in life, both from experience. Never be an employer, or a landlord.

Being an employer today is horrible. Our illustrious government has greatly contributed to this. It’s like being in a circular firing squad. The government spends our nation into oblivion causing record high inflation, then starts passing laws raising the minimum wage, which causes more inflation, which causes companies to cut back services and quality just to try and stay afloat. The employees that are now receiving these greatly inflated wages still can’t afford to live any better than they did before, because this whole exercise just raised the water level even higher. This whole dog and pony show doesn’t change anything, doesn’t change anyone’s economic status, it just makes the money less valuable. Just because you have more dollars, you’re not any richer. Companies have to resort to cutting staff, which means less jobs, plus raising the cost of the goods and services they provide, means their sales start to suffer. This causes an accelerated downward spiral, and everyone suffers. Try running a business under these conditions.

Today’s employees are so spoiled and entitled, they don’t stop and assess their roles in making this situation better. The more productive and efficient they are, the more prosperous their employers are, which results in greater rewards for their efforts. Employees that put forth a better performance, usually benefit by being promoted and receiving an improved rate of pay. Somehow, in later years people have inverted this whole idea, thinking they should be paid top wages from the beginning. Sorry, unless you are highly experienced and bring something special to the table, it’s not likely to happen. This is a misconception concerning college degrees. Even if you have a college degree, and you have no work experience, you’re in essence and entry level employee. You are going to be trained like everyone else, because every company has a different way of conducting business.

I’m going to change directions a little bit, but it’s part of this larger problem of lackluster productivity. Having an arthritic knee, I sometimes opt out going in a big box stores shopping with my wife. The pain in my knee and my wallet at the same time can be overwhelming. Anyway, last Saturday night I was waiting in the parking lot enjoying some tunes on Sirius FM, and watching a young man probably about 17 years old gathering up shopping carts. Not an unusual activity, but he was doing it with one hand. He had a cell phone in this other hand, which was his actual focus, not gathering shopping carts. So, instead of putting 20 carts together and pushing them back to the store, he was putting three or four together, and the small ones to boot. He spent over an hour wandering around looking at his phone while pretending he was working. Around nine ‘o’ clock he disappeared. About 15 minutes later an older guy came out and had the rest of the carts gathered up in less than 20 minutes. Not bad, this kid is making $15.00 an hour wandering around the parking lot gazing at his cell phone, contributing to the high prices I’m paying for the crap in his employer’s store. Interestingly, a few days later I’m having lunch with the owner of the company I work for. The owner is complaining about how his shop employees seem to lack reasonable efforts in their work. He cited their constant cell phone checks. I told him about my experience a few days ago in the parking lot, and said if I owned a business today, I would buy a set of lockers with small compartments and make the employees lock their phones up during working hours. A major portion of the work force in this country only has one useful arm. It’s like having a team of one-armed paper hangers.

We are in a unique situation where everyone is complaining about the way things are, but nobody wants to get off their asses and do something about it. If all employers banned cell phones during work hours, it would end overnight. They fire people for having drugs in their systems because the danger it imposes to themselves and others. In my opinion, cell phones pose the same dangers due to the distraction they cause. This seems like something OSHA should be enforcing.

Well good people, that’s the way I see things through my narrow scope of vision. I have to admit, I don’t think in color, I think in black and white, and right and wrong. No shades of gray in my color spectrum. Do it right or don’t do it at all.
